125 years before the 2019-20 season in which City debuted this kit, St. Mark’s Church in Manchester formed a local football club as an alternative activity for young men in the area. By 1899, City were promoted to the top level of English football and a few years later earned their first F.A. Cup. Since then, the Citizens have climbed and climbed to the top ranks of world soccer. This shirt commemorates all of the above, and then some. Celebrating 125 years of excellence at Manchester City, this home jersey is modeled after some of the club’s earliest kits, lacking sponsors and much of the added pizzazz you see in the modern game, there’s nothing here to distract from the beauty that is Manchester City Football Club.
